Do You Really Need To Follow Recovery Period Exercise On P90x Program?

I am done with first phase of P90X and about to start my recovery week. Recovery week does not include intense muscle workout. I am planning to replace recovery week with repeat of normal phase 1 workout week. And then just move onto phase 2 workout. What is the pros and cons of replacing recovery workout week with regular workout?
